Gulfstream Plane Manuals App
Gulfstream approached Deloitte with the opportunity to envision a brand new content app for their pilots. Collaborating with an engagement manager and mobile architect, I led the design process by conducting user interviews, synthesizing key learnings, and leveraging the learnings to map out the user journey and propose potential solutions. In the end, we delivered a clear product roadmap.
Prepare for Take-Off
To kick the project off, we traveled to the client’s headquarters where we had the opportunity to interview actual pilots. To ensure the conversations would be more than just complaints about the current state of the app, I structured an interview guide from broad to specific, delving into their daily routines before exploring their tools and usage of the app. Afterwards, I organized the data into themes and learnings.
We Have Now Reached Our Cruising Altitude
Following research, I used the learnings to create a journey map, segmenting the pilot’s experience into four phases. For each phase, I clearly defined it, identified its main pain point, and derived a potential opportunity. After generating a list of features to support each opportunity, running a prioritization workshop with the clients, and figuring out what’s desirable and feasible for the initial release, I created a future state journey map.
We Hope You Had a Pleasant Flight
To support the journey map, I created wireframes to illustrate the different flows and features. Together with the rest of the team, we successfully presented our vision to the clients and secured the next phase of the project.
